May 2010 - Yosemite / Mother's Day

Mother's Day weekend was especially nice this year because our house didn't flood while we were away (like it did last year). On Saturday, we had a family day trip to Yosemite. It was so refreshing! The beauty of that place is like what I imagine the Garden of Eden to have been. The waterfall behind us is the tallest waterfall in the United States.

Elijah is already very scholastic and wanted to study the signs at the park.

Leif and Sabrina stand in front of a cross section of a very, very old tree.

On Sunday, in addition to making me breakfast in bed, Jeff made "Thunder Cake," a recipe right out of Sabrina's reading textbook. Jeff did an amazing job making the cake , even though the recipe isn't a keeper (it had tomato sauce in it). Believe it or not, it started to thunder while we were eating the cake. Crazy! :)
