July 2010 - Visiting More Grandparents - Part 2

Shanna, Amy, and I took some of our children to Nauvoo for a day trip. We really enjoyed the Family Living Center where we...

saw a wagon wheel being used as a loom for a rug...
tried out a regular loom...
turned a crank to twist twine...
and make it into a rope...
climbed into a large wood wagon (try fitting all of your belongings and food for a three month trip in that!)...
raced wood bears up ropes...
visited a blacksmith shop and got prairie diamond rings...
used a double handle saw to saw through a small log...
played tug-of-war, and did many, many other things before returning back to Grandpa/ma's house.
Shanna sewed these cute, cute dolls for all of the girl cousins. Sabrina really likes hers and wants to make more clothes for her.
Another fun activity at Grandma O's house was making toothpick sculptures. Oh, and there's Grandma sewing in the background! I don't remember what she was making...
Our dear miss Sabrina completed her eighth lap around the sun while we were at Grandma and Grandpa's house! We celebrated with yummy pink princess cupcakes! I know it was fun for her to have cousins around to share her very special day! Happy Birthday, Sabrina! :)
